PR & Media AI Search Performance
A tracking target doesn’t have to be your own site. Set the URL of a press release or media placement as the project target, and measure how many times each AI engine cites it, in answering which questions, and whether it brings a positive or negative narrative.
The value of media coverage has been stuck on pageviews and outlet counts.
A project can track a domain, a subdomain or a specific URL. A Yahoo news piece, a magazine placement or a blog collaboration can each be its own project, with independent keywords and prompts.
Use the URL-citations tab to see how many times each AI engine cited that article — the most direct answer to “has AI recognized this content.”
Citation analysis reveals which domains AI cites most, and which of them speak well of you. Those are the PR placements worth doubling down on; domains where competitors keep appearing reveal a rival’s media strategy in reverse.
The domain-type distribution breaks out UGC forums on their own, showing how much of the citations in your category come from community discussion.
The daily sentiment trend and the month-over-month comparison in the monthly report let you verify whether a press release or campaign helped AI mention and sentiment.
Add AI citation rate to the results report as a new deliverable.
Validate the annual media budget allocation, and catch negative narratives before they spread.
Assess how much of forum, community and KOL content makes it into AI answers.

QIf my placed article isn’t cited, does that mean it didn’t work?
Not necessarily. AI engines need time to recognize new content, and whether it gets cited also depends on page structure. Track it for several weeks and compare against the other outlets in the same batch.
QCan I track someone else’s media?
Yes. Add it as a competitor or watch target in the project settings, and citation analysis will include its domain in the tally.
QHow many articles can I track at once?
It depends on your plan’s project and keyword quotas; you can check the remaining allowance in usage records.
QHow is this different from a regular social-listening tool?
Social listening looks at where people discuss; this looks at whose content AI adopts when it answers. You can use both, but decision-making influence is already shifting to the latter.
